About 5 minutes north of the Norris Point Intersection, you
will come to Rocky Harbour. Two noticeable landmarks of
Rocky Harbour are Salmon Point and Lobster Cove Head.
When you see the reef of rocks at the entrance to the
harbour, you will see how the town got it's name. For more
information about the Town of Rocky Harbour, check out
their website at www.rockyharbour.ca.
The offices and headquarters of the Gros Morne National
Park are located in Rocky Harbour. Make sure you visit the
very well developed and highly technical visitor centre located
in Rocky Harbour.
From the community you will have immediate access to
mountain climbing, sightseeing, and other tourist attractions,
including Gros Morne Mountain. Those wishing to enjoy Western
Brook Boat Tour or any of the other boat tours can purchase
tickets here. Check out the Bontours website for more details.
Another tourist must is Lobster Cove Lighthouse. From here
you will get a scenic view of the ocean, the bay and the
mountains.
If you are looking for hotel accommodations, make sure you
check out Fisherman's Landing Inn, Oceanview Motel, or Gros
Morne Motel.
If it's RV Parking you need, make a stop to Gros Morne RV
Campground. For a fine Bed and Breakfast, contact Violet's
Bed & Breakfast, or Hill Top View Bed & Breakfast.
Visitors that prefer cottages/cabins should check out Gros Morne Crafts & Oceanside Cottage, Bayside Cottages, Mountain
Range Cottages, C and G Cabins, Cozy Corner Cottages, Westlink Motel Accommodations, Bottom Brook Cottages, Alderbed
Cottages, Meeting Hill Cottages or Spruce Grove Cottages.
